About Dissonant Times
What We Do
Our monthly publication features a variety of stories, interviews, and perspectives from local people and projects working to build community and collective care, share skills and art, and highlight local efforts pushing for justice and equity.
It is our dream to create an inclusive media landscape that gets to the heart of the real experiences of the community, told by and for the people that live here. That could mean listing your fruit tree in the free section for hopeful foragers, writing a feature on what in the community inspires you, sharing a pensive poem or a punk show flyer, or even submitting a request for advice about your deepest fears or highest hopes.
What does that mean about how we operate?
We currently have two editorial staff (and growing!), a handful of regular columnists, a staff artist, and a web designer. We make it a central objective to not only compensate these core staff that help produce monthly issues, but also our friends and neighbors who are unhoused or incarcerated and contribute to our publication via writing or interviews.
At our current juncture, all funds raised are allocated towards these stipends. As we grow, funding will go towards the development of our print publication and radio station.

Mission Statement:
To represent, empower, entertain, and connect the people of Eugene and the surrounding areas through breaking news, op-eds, and a variety of content that features local events, perspectives, and talent.
